Gluten is a protein found in wheat, oat, barley, rye and foods containing these ingredients or their derivatives. Gluten intolerance (also known as Celiac Disease) is a genetic disorder that affects many Americans. The following products are wheat gluten free, the name for the protein found in pasta, common cereals, and all forms of wheat (including durum, semolina, spelt, kamut, einkorn, and faro), barley, oats, and rye.
All Fantastic World Foods products are made on shared equipment that also processes wheat ingredients. Great precaution is taken to separate gluten free products from those products that do contain gluten. On any given production run, products containing gluten are scheduled to run together through our equipment. After a gluten run, the equipment is opened, thoroughly cleaned, and inspected by Quality Assurance as part of our standard allergen safety protocol. We send all of our gluten free products to the University of Nebraska's Food Allergy Research and Resource Program for lab analysis.
