FAQ 4: WHICH OF YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN NUTS?
We take great precaution to avoid cross-contamination of Fantastic Foods products containing nuts/nut flour. On any given production day, items containing nuts are scheduled to run last through our equipment, which is then opened, thoroughly cleaned, and inspected by Quality Assurance as part of our standard allergen safety protocol. FAQ 5: WHICH OF YOUR PRODUCTS DO NOT CONTAIN MSG?
Fantastic Foods does not add monosodium glutamate (MSG) to any of our products or ingredients. However, MSG naturally occurs in a wide variety of foods, such as milk, cheese, meat, fish, poultry, corn, tomatoes, seaweed, miso, soy sauce, yeast, malt, and soy protein.

FAQ 7: WHICH OF YOUR PRODUCTS ARE KOSHER? WHO CERTIFIES THEM?
Kosher describes food that is fit to eat under Jewish dietary law. Our certifying agency is Kosher Supervision of America (KSA), P.O. Box 35721, Los Angeles, CA 90035, and Rabbi Binyomin Lisbon is the Kashrus Administrator.

FAQ 8: DO YOU USE GMO INGREDIENTS?
Genetically modified organism (GMO) refers to any genetic plant type that has had genes from a different species transferred into its genetic material using genetic engineering.

Fantastic Foods is opposed to the use of GMOs in the production of agricultural products and their use in food products. We focus on assuring that our agricultural crops and agricultural commodities will be from non-GMO stocks. Should we identify any ingredients that might have potential GMO origin, we seek out verified non-GMO alternatives, with the goal of eliminating all possible GMOs in our products.

FAQ 9: WHAT IS TEXTURIZED SOY PROTEIN?
Texturized Soy Protein (TSP) is a natural food made from textured soy flour and produced by running defatted soy flour through an extrusion cooker and compressing into granules. When rehydrated, TSP has a texture similar to ground beef. It is rich in protein, extremely low in both fat and sodium, and a good source of fiber. FAQ 10: WHAT IS AUTOLYZED YEAST?
Autolyzed yeast extract is naturally produced by growing, harvesting, and concentrating yeast cells. The yeast self-digests (autolyzes), breaking down the cell walls, and creates a savory base used to formulate a multitude of different flavors.

Fantastic Foods products do not contain artificial flavors or artificial colors. In addition, we do not use synthetic ingredients, synthetic solvents, synthetic carriers, or synthetic preservatives.

FAQ 12: WHAT ARE NATURAL FLAVORS COMPOSED OF?
"Natural Flavor" generally refers to either a nutritional yeast extract or spices (pepper or other spices) which add layers of flavor to our products. We can assure you Fantastic Foods does not use any animal by-products in the production of our products. We also add no MSG or preservatives. We are dedicated as a company to a healthy, environmentally friendly vegetarian lifestyle.

FAQ 13: WHAT IS CELIAC DISEASE?
Celiac Disease, also known as gluten intolerance, is a genetic disorder that affects up to 1-in-150 Americans. Those affected suffer damage to their intestines when they eat specific food-grain antigens found in wheat, rye, and barley. Wheat, in particular, is prominent in the American diet. Many times it is a hidden ingredient and presents a serious lifestyle challenge to those with this disease. Fantastic Foods makes numerous wheat gluten-free products. FAQ 16: WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR PRODUCTS?
In additional to our web store, you can find our products in many supermarkets and virtually every health food store in the nation (including Whole Foods Market, Bread & Circus, Fresh Fields, Raley’s Wild Oats, Albertson&146;s Kroger, Safeway, Finast, Publix, or Fred Meyer). Often a good variety of our products can be found in the nutritional/health food aisle of markets. Some chains carry more of our products than others do. Rennet is a coagulant used in the making of cheese. Rennet is usually sourced from cow stomaches; however, vegetarian cheeses are manufactured using rennet from either fungal or bacterial sources. FAQ 19: How can I tell the expiration date for your products?

Cartons – Our Cartons have a 15-month shelf life. Each carton is marked with a “Best By” date, which is located on the bottom of the box. Best by dates are written in MM/DD/YY format and are followed by a lot number.

Simmer Soups – Our Simmer Soups have a 12-month shelf life. Each item is marked with a “Best By” date, which is impressed into the side seam of the package. Best by dates may be written in MMDDYY or MM-DD-YY format and may or may not be followed by a lot number.

Soup Cups – Our Soup Cups have a 12-month shelf life. Each item is marked with a "Best By" date, in two locations. One is on the outside of the cardboard wrapper, next to the UPC barcode . The other is stamped onto the bottom of the cup. Our best by dates are written in MM/DD/YY format.
