TASTE TEST: Fantastic World Foods Instant Soups
The scoop: Fantastic World Foods, a California food manufacturer that says it invented instant soup in portable cups, has 16 new vegetarian soups. Flavors range from Baja Black Bean to Sesame Miso and Great Lakes Cheddar Broccoli.
The taste: We sampled the Sesame Miso, which has a good sesame and lemongrass flavor and is not too salty. We couldn't detect any mushrooms in it as pictured on the package. It's simply noodles with broth.
The price: $2.19; the 1.6-ounce package of soup mix makes a little more than 1 cup.
The verdict: YUM!
