Packaging Information

Fantastic World Foods has recently rejuvenated our products and packaging to meet consumer demand. All of our packaging is recyclable.

Our packaging choices are made to provide maximum protection for the product as well as convenience for you, our consumer. The environment is also an important factor in our decision-making and whenever possible we try to minimize our impact on the environment by using materials that are either recycled or recyclable. The new cups are thermally insulated and microwave safe, adding convenience for you without sacrificing environmental consideration. The new cardboard over wrap allows us to provide you with more product information, as well as occasional coupons and special offerings. The cardboard used around our soup cups and for our carton boxes is made from 100% recycled paper fiber, with a minimum of 35% post-consumer content. This packaging is recyclable in most communities nationwide and uses considerable fewer resources than may other materials would. Every packaging decision is made with considerable research and careful consideration so that we can bring you the highest quality food while caring for the earth.

Recyclables

Packaging decisions have an enormous effect on the environment and are extremely important to us here at Fantastic World Foods, as we know they are to you. Our new Soup Cups are made of Polypropylene (#5 plastic), recyclable in some communities, and was chosen after careful considering the resources used to manufacture, transport, and recycle the soup cups. An independent study by the Tellus Institute in Boston concluded that the overall lowest-impact product was the, "lightest-weight package, per unit of delivered end product". For us, this product was #5 plastic, which allows us to make the walls of our cups considerably thinner than possible with #2 plastic without compromising structural integrity. This new material also allows us to offer the microwave cooking method for busy consumers on the go and is more recyclable than the wax paper cups we offered in the past. Using less overall plastic cuts down on the waste from both the manufacturing and transportation processes. Your community may currently not accept #5 plastic in curbside recycling, but remember that although recycling is a very important piece of reducing waste, it can be more environmentally advantageous to reduce to amount of material generated in the first place. As the waste hierarchy says: reduce, reuse, and finally recycle.
